Growing Edges

An intimate founder panel with RoandCo, Care of Chan, & DedCool

You’re invited to The Residency’s Kick-off Event

Please join Allie Stark, co-founder and CEO of Noria on Wednesday, October 1st from 10-11am PST // 1-2pm ET in conversation with Roanne Adams, Sue Chan, and Carina Chaz to discuss Growing Edges.

Together, we’ll explore the growing edges of entrepreneurship—those moments when a founder finds themselves stretching into new territory:

  • A business expanding beyond current capacity

  • An individual outgrowing the shape of the business they started

  • The shift from a founder-led company to a visionary-led organization with professionalized systems and operations

This is meant to be an intimate conversation with space for reflection, honesty, and learning.

Because of the personal nature of this gathering, space is limited and reserved for a small circle of founders and leaders we believe will deeply benefit from and contribute to the conversation.

Roanne Adams | RoandCo

Entrepreneur, visionary, and holistic thinker, Roanne Adams is the founder and Chief Creative Director of RoAndCo Studio, a creative agency based in New York and Los Angeles known for its artful and strategic approach to branding and design. Founded in 2006, the studio quickly gained recognition for Roanne’s intrepid ability to build scalable brands from the ground up. Over the past two decades, Roanne and her team have launched a myriad of brands across various industries, from startups to Fortune 500 companies, including Google, Estée Lauder Companies, Kin Euphorics, and many more.

As one of the few female Creative Directors and studio owners in the industry, she prioritizes nurturing opportunities for women leaders—working with nonprofits and being honored as a UN Women’s Champion for Change. Throughout her career, Roanne has won numerous awards, served on the AIGA New York chapter board, and was named one of New York’s most outstanding design professionals by T Magazine. In 2016, she created Romance Journal, a magazine devoted to raising collective consciousness through the female lens, donating 100% of the proceeds to charities.

Roanne just launched State of Feeling, a transformative curriculum delivered through retreats and workshops for women founders and leaders, helping them align their personal purpose with their businesses. She is also embarking on a new regenerative hotel project in Todos Santos, Mexico called Oraphae with her husband, Johnny Wahba. With a passion for healing, sustainability, and regeneration, Roanne infuses beauty and meaning into every endeavor.

Sue Chan | Care of Chan

A 15-year food industry veteran, Sue S. Chan is the founder of Care of Chan, a premiere event media agency. Sue has collaborated with some of the world’s best culinary, film, fashion, art, and design brands. Prior to founding the agency in 2016, she was the Brand Director of Momofuku, where she opened restaurants in NYC, Sydney, and Toronto and oversaw the PR & Marketing for Chef David Chang as well as the entire international restaurant group. Sue was called the “Downtown New York Food Impresario” by Vogue, was named one of Marie Claire's “Fresh Faces in Food” and received a Young Alumna Award for “Outstanding Achievement in Her Field” from Barnard College of Columbia University. Sue is also a judge for the James Beard Foundation Leadership Awards, known as the Oscars of food. She was the Director of Programming for the last New York Times Food Festival, which sold out in one week - a record for The Times' Events.

Carina Chazanas | Dedcool

DedCool was founded with generations of beauty expertise behind it. Fragrance was Carina Chaz’s passion from the very beginning. Growing up alongside her mother as a beauty formulator, with a lab as her playground, it was natural for Carina to create DedCool. Her love of scent and a general rejection of the way the Fragrance industry operates, lit a fire under Carina to create a modern 21st Century definition of what Fragrance means. It started humbly on Instagram, and then grew to knocking on the doors of local retail shops with the hope of being carried on consignment. This resulted in relationships with department stores, and boutiques to then cultivating dedcool.com.
